Hooray! The hard part is done, your artwork has been designed, and you’re ready to send it off to be printed! But before you pass it on to your printer, it’s good to double check that everything is set up correctly for print.
Oftentimes, your files may not be set up properly, which could cause delays and/or errors in the printing process.
Here’s a quick checklist to make sure you and your order are good to go.
File Specifications:
- Save files as JPG to at least 300 dpi resolution
- CMYK color mode
- Include 0.0625” bleed
- Keep anything you do not want cutoff at least 0.125" away from all edges
- For rich black please use C:50% / M:40% / Y:40% / K:100%
- Crop marks on the artwork are not necessary
Another great tip, use your printer’s templates. This step just about guarantees your artwork will be print ready. These will be in the file type required, guides with bleed and safe area, and in the correct size and/or orientation.
